Booking Terms and Conditions for Tanzania Travel

Legal Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Global Escapes Tanzania's website and services. By accessing our website, making a booking, or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and all applicable Tanzanian laws and regulations.

Global Escapes Tanzania is a registered tour operator in Tanzania, licensed by the Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB) and compliant with all local tourism regulations.

Booking Terms and Conditions

1. Booking Process

  • All bookings require a deposit to confirm reservations
  • Full payment must be received at least 60 days before travel date
  • Last-minute bookings (less than 30 days) require full payment immediately
  • We reserve the right to cancel unconfirmed bookings after 48 hours

2. Required Documentation

  • Valid passport with at least 6 months validity from departure date
  • Copy of passport must be provided at time of booking
  • Visa requirements vary by nationality - clients are responsible for obtaining necessary visas
  • Travel insurance proof is mandatory for all bookings
  • Medical information and vaccination certificates as required

3. Age Requirements

  • Minimum age for Kilimanjaro treks: 12 years (with parental consent)
  • Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult
  • Special restrictions may apply for certain activities

Pricing and Payment Terms

Included in Price

  • • Accommodation as specified in itinerary
  • • Meals as indicated (B=Breakfast, L=Lunch, D=Dinner)
  • • Transportation in safari vehicles
  • • Park entry fees and conservation fees
  • • Services of professional guides and drivers
  • • Airport transfers on arrival and departure

Not Included

  • • International and domestic flights
  • • Visa fees and travel insurance
  • • Tips and gratuities (recommended $20-30/day)
  • • Personal expenses and souvenirs
  • • Optional activities not specified in itinerary
  • • Alcoholic beverages (unless specified)

Important Payment Information

  • Prices are quoted in US Dollars (USD) unless otherwise specified
  • Tanzanian VAT (18%) is included where applicable
  • Payment can be made via bank transfer, credit card, or mobile money
  • Bank transfer fees are the responsibility of the client
  • Credit card payments may incur a 3-5% processing fee

Important: No refunds for no-shows or early departures. Some third-party suppliers (airlines, hotels) may have stricter cancellation policies. Travel insurance is strongly recommended to cover unexpected cancellations.

Travel Requirements and Responsibilities

Client Responsibilities

  • Obtain valid travel documents (passport, visas, vaccinations)
  • Purchase comprehensive travel insurance covering medical emergencies, evacuation, and trip cancellation
  • Follow safety instructions from guides and staff
  • Respect local customs, cultures, and wildlife
  • Inform us of any medical conditions or special requirements
  • Arrive at designated meeting points on time

Health and Safety

  • Consult with a travel doctor for required and recommended vaccinations
  • Malaria prophylaxis is recommended for most Tanzanian regions
  • Altitude sickness prevention for Kilimanjaro treks
  • Follow all wildlife viewing safety protocols
  • Stay hydrated and protect against sun exposure

Force Majeure

Global Escapes Tanzania shall not be liable for failure to perform its obligations resulting from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to:

Acts of God (earthquakes, floods, storms)
Government actions or travel restrictions
Political unrest or civil disturbances
Pandemics or health emergencies
Transportation failures or strikes
War, terrorism, or security threats

In such circumstances, we will make reasonable efforts to provide alternative arrangements or credit for future travel.

Liability and Insurance

Our Liability

  • We maintain appropriate insurance for our operations
  • Liability is limited to the cost of the tour package
  • We are not liable for acts or omissions of third-party suppliers
  • Wildlife viewing involves inherent risks - clients participate at their own risk
  • Adventure activities (trekking, safaris) carry inherent risks

Required Insurance

All clients must have comprehensive travel insurance covering:

  • Medical expenses and emergency evacuation (minimum $200,000 coverage)
  • Trip cancellation and interruption
  • Baggage loss or delay
  • Personal liability
  • Repatriation of remains
  • For Kilimanjaro: high altitude coverage up to 6,000 meters

Dispute Resolution and Governing Law

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania.

Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or our services shall first be attempted to be resolved through good faith negotiations. If unresolved, disputes shall be submitted to mediation in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Jurisdiction

The courts of Tanzania shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising from these Terms.
